I’m an actor,
I’m not easy to see through.
I’m an actor,
I don’t always tell it true.
I’m an actor,
But you really cannot tell?
I’m an actor,
And I do it very well.
I’m an actor,
You can’t see it in my eyes.
I’m an actor,
But I am not telling lies.
I’m an actor,
I can fool you like the best.
I’m an actor,
You can’t tell me from the rest.
I’m an actor,
But I just can’t get a part.
I’m an actor,
And I’m practising my art.
I’m an actor,
And I’m fooling with you now.
I’m an actor,
And you’ll never find out how.
I’m an actor,
Yet I know you’ll never know
I’m an actor,
But you’ll find out when I go.
You’re an actor,
And you think you have me hooked.
You’re an actor?
I can read you like a book.
You’re an actor,
And you think you are the best.
You’re an actor,
But your head is really messed.
You’re an actor,
And you’re thinking I don’t know
I’m the actor.
I can’t wait for you to go.
Some people think they are so clever. But it’s their audacity and over-confidence that always catches them out in the end. This post was “inspired” by the way such people think they are fooling everyone. But they are only fooling themselves. And the best part is that they think we don’t know.
Lovely poem

It does, really. Sometimes, when we write one piece, it triggers thoughts for another. I really love it when that happens, even though it isn’t very often, for me 🙂

Oh it does for me…reading others does as well…this piece actually made me think of one I wrote as a “b” and never posted using masks as the prompt…I might post it one day.

Post it, I say. I have discovered that those pieces that I think are my best are often relatively ignored, whereas if I post something that I consider to be mediocre, it often explodes with interest.

Hmmm I might just take your advise…

Thanks Beth. I agree. And they don’t realise how foolish they look.

Hee, hee, hee! I used to work in psychiatry, and, hopefully, was good at spotting actors. We used to have people purposely getting themselves admitted to the unit for Christmas and the New Year. Some were genuine and others were good actors.
