    • I’m glad you think it will help. I have used this several times. As long as you set the camera down firmly, the worst that can happen is that you have to level the horizon later.

      Also, if you are using a camera without a lens cap, I have had success getting the self timer to trigger the exposure.

      One final tip, keep the camera strap looped around your wrist to avoid walk-by theft. Using a tripod is a deterrent but a loose camera could be tempting.
